# MakeReal.TV > MakeReal shorts in your browser: a few MakeReal.Art drawings as scenes, one MakeReal.Music song underneath, cut on the beat. The whole short lives in its link. No account, no upload, no AI on the site. Made by Liminal Prompt. The homepage is the TV. Opened without a link, it plays a few demo shorts, one after another. People can also make a short right on the page: press MAKE A SHORT, paste MakeReal.Art pictures or links as scenes and a MakeReal.Music share link as the song, then press PLAY IT. ## Make a short as a link (for AI assistants) You can hand someone a short by writing it into the link. Opening it tunes the TV in, shows the title, then plays the scenes on loop over the song. Nothing is sent anywhere; the short lives in the part of the URL after `#`. Example: https://makereal.tv/#title=space+cat&tempo=110&melody=0.2.4.7.9-7-4.2.0---&bass=0...3...&kick=x...x...&clap=....x...&hat=..x.&scene=2&box=blue-fill:0,0,100,100&circle=yellow-fill:80,20,10&stamp=cat-l:50,60&text=loud-pink:15,15:SPACE+CAT&scene=2&stamp=ufo-xl:50,40&stamp=cat:50,75&make=real ### Format `https://makereal.tv/#` followed by `key=value` pairs joined with `&`, in this order: 1. **The song first.** `title` (the short's title), then any MakeReal.Music keys: `melody`, `bass`, `kick`, `clap`, `hat`, `junk`, `who`, `lead`, `low`, `tempo`, `make`. They mean exactly what they mean on MakeReal.Music: see https://makereal.music/llms.txt A song someone shared from MakeReal.Music's share button (`s=...`) works too: copy its `s=` key into the header as it is. 2. **Then each scene.** `scene=N` starts a scene that lasts N bars (1 to 8, default 2, which is one loop of the song). The keys after it, up to the next `scene=`, are MakeReal.Art keys: `line`, `box`, `circle`, `stamp`, `text`, `make`. They mean exactly what they mean on MakeReal.Art: see https://makereal.art/llms.txt A `title` inside a scene shows as a caption at the bottom of that scene. A scene can also have a camera move, `move=`, and say how it comes in, `cut=`, right after its `scene=N`: - `move=still` (locked off), `push` (a slow push in, the default), `kb` (Ken Burns: a slow zoom and drift toward the drawing), `pan` (slides across sideways), `out` (starts close and pulls back to show everything), `punch` (zooms in on every kick drum), `shake` (handheld wobble that jumps on claps). - `cut=cut` (the default), `dissolve` (fades from the scene before), `wipe` (slides in like a curtain), `iris` (a circle closes and opens, like old cartoons), `whip` (a fast blurred pan into the scene). Optional: `look=vhs` (before the first scene) plays the whole short through an old VHS tape. Unknown keys are ignored. A plain MakeReal.Art link opened on the TV plays as a one-scene short. Long links copied from the TV may come squished as `#z=...`; the TV unsquishes them. ### How to write a good one 1. Write the song first, then each scene after `scene=N`. 2. Write scenes with MakeReal.Art's readable keys, because readable scenes redraw stroke by stroke on the TV. A picture someone shared from MakeReal.Art's Copy link (`v=1&d=...`) also works as a scene: put its `v=1&d=...` keys after `scene=N` as they are. It paints on instead of redrawing. 3. Draw in story order. Items appear in the order they are written, so the order is the animation. 4. Keep it short: 3 to 6 scenes of 2 bars each, which runs about 15 to 30 seconds at the default tempo. 5. Stamps land on kicks and googly eyes (`stamp=eye`) jiggle on hi-hats, so a busy `kick` makes a bouncy scene. Text shakes on claps. 6. Mix camera moves: a `kb` or `out` on a calm scene, `punch` on a busy beat, a `dissolve` when time passes, an `iris` for the ending. 7. A scene's own `make=real`, `make=old` or `make=weird` lands after its drawing finishes. 8. Hand the person the link. Worked example (one line in practice): https://makereal.tv/#title=the+frog+who+flew&tempo=run&make=real&melody=4.5.7.9-7-5.4---&bass=0...3...4...3...&kick=x...x...&clap=....x...&hat=x.x.&junk=..............c.&scene=2&box=green-fill:0,80,100,20&stamp=frog-l:30,70&text=loud-s:6,14:ONCE+THERE+WAS+A+FROG&scene=2&box=green-fill:0,80,100,20&stamp=frog-l:30,40&line=gray-pencil:30,70,30,48&text=scrawl:10,15:who+wanted+to+fly&scene=2&circle=yellow-fill:80,20,10&stamp=frog-l:60,25&stamp=star-yellow-s:20,30,40,15,75,55&stamp=eye:57,22,64,22&scene=2&text=ransom:20,45:THE+END&stamp=approved:70,70&make=old ## Watching Pause a short and press EXPLODE to fan its pictures out like a deck of cards, and slide PICTURES A SECOND from 1 to 24 to see a slideshow turn into a cartoon and then a movie. Comma and period step one picture; the arrow keys change channel. DOWNLOAD VIDEO saves the short as an MP4, wide (16:9) or tall (9:16), made in the browser. ## The other input The TV's AV button switches to a footage editor: drop in a video from your device and it suggests short edits from the loud, busy bits, which you can trim and download as an MP4. Direct link: https://makereal.tv/#ch=av. The video never leaves the device. It measures sound, motion and scene changes; it does not understand jokes, speech or faces, and it is not AI. ## Privacy No account, no chat, no ads, no AI on the site. A short lives in its link: whoever has the link can watch it, so links pasted into chats are visible to everyone in them. Videos dropped into the AV editor are processed in the browser and never uploaded. ## Links - [MakeReal.TV](https://makereal.tv/): the TV - [Privacy](https://makereal.tv/privacy) - [MakeReal.Art](https://makereal.art/): drawings for scenes ([llms.txt](https://makereal.art/llms.txt)) - [MakeReal.Music](https://makereal.music/): songs for the soundtrack ([llms.txt](https://makereal.music/llms.txt))
